UNDERSTANDING DENTAL INSURANCE AND VOCABULARY
Navigating dental insurance can be a daunting task, especially when considering the limitations of most plans. Many dental insurances offer benefits with maximum annual reimbursements capped at $1,500 to $2,500 annually. Interestingly, there often isn’t a significant difference between using in network versus out of network providers due to these reimbursement limits. At Morristown Cosmetic Dentistry, we believe in empowering our patients by offering the flexibility to choose their preferred dentist regardless of network restrictions. This approach ensures that your dental care is guided by what’s best for your health, not dictated by insurance limitations.
Q: Do you participate with my insurance?
Answer. Here at Morristown Cosmetic Dentistry, we participate with almost every dental insurance plan that allows you to select your own dentist, whether in-network or out of network. While Dr. Gittleman is recognized as an in-network Delta Dental Premier Provider, he has a diverse patient base of both insured and non insured patients who seek out his services based upon his extensive experience and expertise rather than his network status with a particular carrier. New patients are encouraged to speak directly with our office to learn more about how we work with your specific insurance company regarding insurance submissions and payments.
Q. Why should I consider using an out of network dentist when my insurance has in network options?
Answer. Opting for an out of network dentist gives you the advantage of having the dentist determine the best treatment for your needs, rather than being restricted by what the insurance company dictates. Insurance companies are businesses focused on financial interests, which may not always align with what’s best for your dental health. For instance, many insurance plans may only reimburse for outdated mercury containing amalgam fillings instead of modern tooth colored composite fillings, despite the health benefits and aesthetic advantages of composite fillings.
Q. Are advanced procedures like implants and cosmetic work covered by insurance?
Answer. Unfortunately, many advanced procedures such as dental implants and cosmetic procedures are often not covered by insurance. Choosing a provider based on their experience and expertise in these specialized areas becomes crucial in ensuring successful outcomes and satisfaction with your dental treatment.
Q. How can I determine if you accept my insurance?
Answer. Contact our friendly team at Morristown Cosmetic Dentistry and we will gladly verify whether your insurance provides coverage with our office as well as the list of covered procedures. Questions regarding your insurance companies’ allowable fees and covered percentages can be best determined by submitting a pre treatment estimate, which our staff is always happy to submit upon patient request prior to any treatment
Q: What if my insurance has limitations or exclusions on certain treatments?
Answer: It is always important to review your insurance policy details carefully and consult with our team regarding any questions. We’re here to help you understand any limitations or exclusions that may impact your coverage, and we can discuss alternative options or financing plans to accommodate your dental needs.
At Morristown Cosmetic Dentistry, we prioritize your dental health and overall well being. Whether you’re interested in routine care, advanced procedures, or cosmetic enhancements, our team is dedicated to delivering high quality personalized care that exceeds your expectations.
